The first round of the BCV T20 cup and MCCI rolled up to face Serendib at their Neu-Perlach ground, near the Forschungsbrauerei. An early start had been set and the game got underway at 12:05 after captain Weston lost the toss and MCC were asked to field. This may have been because at that time Serendib had only nine players, two reputedly on their way. Actually they never ever arrived and the remaining Serendib batsmen were all very soon on their way too the first being a superb direct hit run out of Jasprit Singh, recently of the breakaways but now back with Serendib. He went with the score on four and the other wickets fell with the score on 18, 21, 28, 36, 58, 58 and 58. The MCC bowlers clearly had a field day bowling them out in 14. 2 overs and bowling only 9 wides in total. Pick of the bunch was Höck who had a Forfar Athletic.
MCC`s batting was even more overpowering, Veser and Ayub getting the necessary in only six overs meaning the match was finished at 13:50 and the team were at a loss as to what to do, it being too early to visit the Forschungsbrauerei.
