Rain stopped play. Match abandoned with Tegernsee 55-3 chasing 227 to win.
Comments on the Match
An ultimately soggy end to the day with rain stopping play early into the Tegernsee innings. This did however mean an early chance for MCC to sample the 2004 vintage of Tegernseer Spezial. Mcc batted first after Kiwi surprisingly won the toss. On debut openers Asim and Todd Hooligan impressed with the bat alongside the Hitman Holmes at no4. Todd top scored with 64. Asim also doing well with the wk gloves. Lovell ‘scratched around like an old hen’ and was thus deducted 4 runs by the bored scorers. Holmes went big, see below. Lepani was the unfortunate victim of the monthly Bostock run out scandal with the new skipper revealing on the train that ‘there was a lot of yes in his no call’. It was a sickening sight Richie. Deviant Lepani did manage to pick up a couple of wickets before letting himself down later in the evening. Highlight of the evenings entertainment has to be the French floozy at the Pizza restaurant. Tres bien. Pizza Diabolo und drei ‘elles.
MCC Man of The Match
Holmes. ‘Brute of a man’ Hitman holmes. The Slazenger slugger. Almost redeemed himself after the 2003 Tegernsee windscreen affair. Nasty business that.

Summary of Match Result
Rain stopped play. Match abandoned with MCC 70-4 chasing 210 (MIC) to win.
Comments on the Match
Once again the May rains put an end to a dreary affair. Kiwi lost the toss, MIC batted first (in temps of around 9-10 degrees!) and rattled up 209/8 in their allotted 40 Overs. Bowling highlights included: a good opening spell from Gligarov, Sembian’s tidy offies, Finchy’s left armers and Tony Blade’s good line and length. The last 10 overs got away from MCC with MIC finding the fence on a regular basis. Facing a stiff target in fading light and drizzle, MCC got off to a shocking start losing Finch and Parry early on. Nawaz ul Haq produced some typical Pakistani pyrotechnics before skying one to the ‘keeper. This left Khana and Blades to see out the last rights before driving rain forced the players from the field.
MCC Man of The Match
Jason Glig. Line and Length. Most improving MCC player. MCC’s youth policy paying dividends!

Summary of Match Result
MCC winning by 9 runs, CCB 186 all out (38.2 overs)chasing 196 to win.
Comments on the Match
In another tense closely fought match – following the nailbiter the previous day vs MIC – MCC came out on top to win by 9 runs. Winning the toss and batting first in wet conditions MCC lost 3 early wickets before Scrimshaw and Appavu played superbly to resurrect the innings. Both consistantly punished poor bowling. The middle and lower order folded quickly before Weatherall and Kiwi batted out the last 10 overs, adding a valuable 25. CCB started shockingly losing early wickets before the middle order stabilised and formed invaluable partnerships. MCC’s bowling was mixture of good the bad and the ugly, with everyone more or less having a bowl. Once Sembian came on at the end and took a couple of important wickets the game slipped away from CCB. The nature of the ‘pitch’ needs to be mentioned. With uneven, dangerous sideways movement, due to the rock like formation below, it can only be described as the worst ‘pitch’ since Eng played WI 6 years ago in Jamaica, in which the match was called off during the first morning due to it’s shocking nature!
MCC Man of The Match
Sembian Appavu – vital 74 in difficult batting conditions, played sensibly while others fell around him. Picked up 3 cheap sticks during the final tense stages of the CCB innings to wrap up victory.

Summary of Match Result
Rain stopped play. Match abandoned with MCC 84-0 (14.1 overs) chasing 150 (CCB) to win.
Comments on the Match
In yet another match abandoned due to the unpleasantness of the weather, MCC were cruelly denied what would have been an almost certain victory. Losing the toss and fielding first, MCC contained well early and made quick inroads leaving CCB 3 down for not many. Gligarov was again impressive along with Finch and Blades. CCB’s middle order stabilised well forming crucial partnerships. Sear and Bradley also chipped in with a wicket a piece. With the late innings flurry expected, Kiwi finally found some form with the ball and picked up 2 sticks at the end to leave MCC chasing 150 to win off 40 overs. MCC started it’s chase in the rain, and it sadly only got worse as the innings went on. Sear produced a brute of a knock, smashing his his way to an impressive 50 (off a ridiculously small amount of balls faced!). Giles at the other end played second fiddle, nudging, nurdling and prodding himself to 23 not out. The players left the field with MCC 84/0 of 14.1 overs. What a bugger!
MCC Man of The Match
Dan Sear, proving that BDM bats are the way of the future!

Summary of Match Result
MCC Invitation XI (81-5) beat Oakhill Taverners (79 all out) easily by 5 wickets
Comments on the Match
A MCC Invitation XI took on the Oakhill Taverners at Tegernsee, enabling the English tourists to experience cricket in the Alps and sample the local drop. Sadly only three members of MCC made it to Tegernsee, turning it into more of a Tegernsee XI than a MCC one. On a steaming hot day by the lake, the tourists batted first and within 22 overs had been dismissed for a paltry 79. The young Tegernsee three pronged pace attack soon had the batsmen in trouble. With the assistance of MCC’s very own Greg Holmes, who was in thick of the action, taking a catch, a stumping and facilitating a run out. Then Des stepped up and blew away the middle order with his hand grenades. With the batsmen unable to cope with his loop, Des had to be rapidly removed from the attack to resume his grazing in the slips. Unfortunately Nichols couldn’t match the success of his fellow MCC members. For the second time that weekend he bowled to the only Taverner who could bat and once more came off second best. A scratchy start to the reply was enlightened by a brief cameo by Greg Holmes, who had to retire after hitting a six high over the fence and into the Kinderfest taking place in the adjacent field. The innings was soon stabilised, however, and an easy victory was wrapped up in the 18th over, allowing ample time for sampling the liquid products of the Brauhaus.
MCC Man of The Match
Well of the MCC men, Greg, I guess, despite the fact that he endangered small children. Kept tidily, considering it had been a while, should have gone on to greater things with the bat, but couldn’t resist the 6 and out shot. Overall though Karrpf, 2 wickets and 26.

Comments on the Match
A poor batting performance it would seem apart from Marlboro Purandhar who top scored with an unbeaten 31. Mcc battled well in the field with some good bowling and tight fielding but were never going to defend 95. A not so dejected team headed off to the nearby Forschungsbrauerei under the Chairman’s instruction. There then followed the Hooligan beermat affair. Nasty business that.
MCC Man of The Match
Purandhar. Good batting and useful opening spell with the ball.

Comments on the Match
A lovely day in the English Garden with the first post match visit to the Chinese Tower after all this time. Just shows you how bad the weather had been up to this point. I blame Bradley. On a cricketing front Dan Sear was at his brutal bdm best hitting 78 in quick time with good support by Giles and Hools as MCC reached 219 off their 40 overs. The tourists from Kent found themselves 34-8 against some good bowling from Scott, Power, Carr, Blades and Leppo Lepani (3-2 off 3). Lepani being harshly taken off it was judged by neutral observers. Oakhill rallied to 87 before Sear struck with his first ball to end proceedings. The teams retired to the Chinese Tower for some liquid refuelling and enjoyed the start of summer at last.
MCC Man of The Match
Dan Sear – brutal.

A friendly in Passau. Transport the Munich cattle truck train into border territory. A low scoring game with runs hard to come by despite perfect batting conditions. Only Scrimshaw, Blades and Bostock really troubling the scorers. Passau fell just short of their target. Leppo Lepani the pick of the bowlers with 4 sticks, ably supported by Brother Blades with 2-12 off 6.
MCC Man of The Match
Blades. Unbeaten 29 and economical bowling.

Comments on the Match
A good bowling performance restricted the visitors to 119 all out. Bostock the pick with 3-10 as he showed signs of returning to peak fitness. In reply Parry flourished in a good opening partnership with Albert. A slight collapse then Sembi took MCC to within spitting distance of the target before it p1ssed down once more to deny MCC a victory.

Sembi top score and good wk.

Comments on the Match
A league game it was not allegedly as TCC have unfortunately decided to pull out of the league. So we played a friendly instead and sent the neutral umpires home to their wives. At 68-6 it didnt look too promising with only Power (30) bothering to graft. Gale and Quiet Man Mcgree came together and the two Pommie b@stards put on an entertaining century stand as MCC rallied to 190-7. In reply TCC were never at the races. Despite some pleasant stuff from Moritz and Peter Stiff, TCC were eventually dismissed for 96. Power and Mcgree gaining 7 wickets between them.
MCC Man of The Match
Mcgree, maiden half century and 3 quiet wickets.

Comments on the Match
On a typically stinking hot day at the MCG (Munich Cricket Ground), Kiwi lost the toss in near perfect batting conditions. CCB batting first (no surprise!) made a horrible start with both openers back in the hut with less than 20 runs on the board. Chris Langfelder produced a typically mean (some might say even rude) opening spell of bowling. The usual CCB mini middle order revival against some main dish buffet delights set up a match defending total. Bradley was brought on just before drinks buy a stick, and negotiated well a much needed Bob Mitchem stumping. Sembi bowled tightly at the death and picked up 5 well darted poles! MCC’s innings was a general lowlight, nothing to mention of note, except: 1) Rumour has it that the skipper aint happy with the batting this year, big bone of contention, serious rumblings material! In protest Kiwi batted 25 overs for 15 very painstaking not out singles! 3 weeks are left to GET IT RIGHT! 2) Hammo hit a magnificent 6 over deep square leg to register his first runs of the season. Richter Des also nudged his first runs too! Bring on the Munich Saffers next week!. Over and Stumps….
MCC Man of The Match
Sembi. 5 sticks requires no additional comment.

Comments on the Match
In this much awaited friendly at CCB’s Zuricherstrasse – otherwise known as “The House of Bounce” CCB won the toss and decided to bat in sensational overhead conditions. Lepani and Kiwi picked up an early stick each, but CCB rallied and consolidated cashing in as the pie truck made it’s way through ForstenriederAllee and directly straight to Z.Str. MCC’s bowling resources were thrown into disarray when Bradley, after unloading only 1 over of his special hand grenades, was forced to pull away from the pie crease – complaining of a mystery leg strain – is this the end of a career spanning many a decade, time will only tell, Des? Mcgree was superb, giving nothing away and in the process picked up 3 wkts. Wolfie Albert chipped in with 4 scalps towards the end, including an absolutely sensational catch it or wear it type caught and bowled. There have been some amazing catches taken by MCC this season, and this was up there as one of the best. Holmes and Albert started the MCC innings well and looked comfortable initially. However, the infamous MCC batting collapse showed up again and wkts fell so quickly that Hammo was forced to pad up and score at the same time! Kiwi had a couple partnerships of note, firstly with Lepani and secondly with Bradley (who was came out fighting with a runner…) All in all a good old fashioned thrashing. MCC’s batting still a general worry, however, the pitch is a shocker and with the ball going 90 degrees when pitched on middle stump one can half excuse some of the dismissals – oh the pressure of playing at “The house of Bounce”…!
MCC Man of The Match
Wolfie Albert/Yours Truly – too close to call.
